Supporting ACRF makes a difference
The Australian Cancer Research Foundation backs the boldest ideas in cancer research – the equipment, technology and research programs with the potential to change how cancer is prevented, detected and treated.
- The HPV vaccine was seed-funded by ACRF. That early backing helped create a vaccine now used around the world, and it’s the reason Australia is on track to eliminate cervical cancer by 2035. An entire cancer, on its way out, because someone funded the research while it was still just a promising idea.
- ACRF-funded research has developed a blood test for reliable, early-stage detection of eight curable cancers. Catching cancer early is the single biggest factor in surviving it, and this test could put early detection within reach for millions.
- And ACRF recently funded a research program working to transform the detection of high-risk breast cancer by identifying it five to seven years before it actually develops. Not catching cancer early. Getting ahead of it entirely.
What is ACRF Accelerators @Work?
The ACRF Accelerators @Work program is a way for businesses to support this world-class cancer research with a monthly donation starting at $250. Signing up to give regularly means your cumulative gifts over time have a big impact on your business, your brand, and your community.
How Navigate Advisory got involved
For the past two years, our Managing Director Harry Moustakas and a group of mates have loaded up their classic cars and driven the back roads of NSW and Victoria for an event they call Old Blokes Driving for a Cancer Cure. Good mates, great cars, long country roads, and a serious purpose behind the fun.
Across those two trips, they’ve raised more than $230,000 for cancer prevention, detection and treatment research.
Those road trips connected us to the work ACRF does, and the more we saw, the more we wanted our support to be ongoing rather than once a year. So when ACRF created Accelerators @Work, signing on as founding partner was an easy yes. The road trips will keep happening. The monthly giving means the support doesn’t stop when the cars are back in the garage.
